Drake's Back?

With a debut album reaching number one on the billboard 200 chart, selling 447,000 it’s first week of sales, many die hard Drake fans were disappointed in “Thank me later”.

Piggybacking off of a hot mixtape,“So far gone”, and features such as on Timberland’s “say something”, his work on “Thank me later” was seemingly lackluster. However, music critics complimented Drake's contemplative lyrics similar to that of Kanye West. Drake undeniably had chart topping hits on this album, but many fans wondered was he losing his innovation?

With the recent releases of his SBTRKT’s “Wildfire” and the Noah “40” Shebib produced “Dreams money can buy (take care)”, Drake might have just silenced the nay-sayers. The lyricism and creative sampling (Jai Paul’s “BTSTU”) of “Dreams money can buy (take care)” is the Drake fans recognize.

On his blog, Drake describes the song as “a song that I felt the need to share. Not my single. Just a piece of my story..”. The delivery of that “story” is a clear reflection of the results of Drake and “40“ combination.
